Ehsan, Es’ to most, or Cooks from his DJ days - is a director who creates films, TV, commercials and music videos, for major brands such as BBC, Nike, Google, Coca-Cola, Porsche, Channel 4, Fortnite and more.
He has earned recognition with awards including Cannes Lions, Ciclope, Clio, Kinsale Shark, and Creative Circle etc. Despite these achievements, he remains affectionately regarded as a “disappointment” at his aunties’ chai circle. Born and raised in North London by hardworking South Asian parents, Ehsan’s work reflects the vibrant mix of grassroots cultures that define “the ends.”
His teenage years were split between manning the tills at his father’s shop Edmonton Halal Butchers by day, and spinning records on pirate radio RAW Mission FM by night. The UK garage scene unexpectedly funded his studies in Architecture and later Graphic Design, where he discovered filmmaking and earned recognition for his student films (Tank Magazine, Smalls Award).
Whilst touring the European festival circuit, Ehsan directed his first branded pieces a alongside A-list photographers, eventually heading up the video arm of JN Group, we he was commissioned to direct fashion films for the likes of Burberry, YSL, River Island etc.
His commercial career kicked off with a quirky ‘SPOT the Difference’ film for Louis Vuitton x Kusama, followed by a Vertu commercial that won a YDA Award, opening the door to high-profile car campaigns for BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar, and Lexus.
Fulfilling his petrolhead passion whilst earning his visual credentials, Ehsan began focusing his lens on stories rooted in culture, inclusivity, and authentic representation. Collaborating with brands such as NFL, Nike, Pringles, and the Premier League to showcase his distinctive high-energy visual language full of humour and heart, whilst striving to give a voice to the voiceless.
Ehsan’s work celebrates colourful characters, life’s odd little ironies, and, above all, the joy of creating something meaningful by making people smile. His ongoing narrative projects and collaborations with talents like Munya Chawawa, spanning music videos, a Channel 4 pilot, and the upcoming short Peanut Head. His mission is to open minds onscreen and doors for off screen via charitable partnerships and championing mentorship.
